Encore!

Because of this news story...I felt I should repost a previous rant.

Pride.

Got into a debate the other night about the Mayor of one of our towns refusing to fly the Gay Pride flag on the town hall during pride week.

Potsie and I were sitting outside smoking with 'Don'. "It's just a stupid flag. What's the big deal?" The mayor didn't think it was appropriate to fly it on the town hall building, frankly neither do I.

Don pipes up, "What if they said that during the Million Man March, told them they couldn't fly their flag." I don't even think they had a flag.

ME: "Are you seriously comparing the Million Man March with Potsie's desire to 'take one for the team'?" Potsie is busting a gut.

DON: "Well it's their community...legal rights..."

ME: "Oh please! Have you been to a gay pride parade, nothing says 'legal joint tax return' like a big harry guy in bondage garb.

The only thing that makes Potsie here any different from any other human on the planet is his sexual preference. WTF? Why does he get a flag?

Look, I really don't give a shit who you love, live with, fuck, whatever. But where does it end, do we have to fly the foot fetish flag? Or the wife swapper flag. What? All they have to do is organize a parade and they can plaster the government buildings with flags?"

Don is just shaking his head. Potsie is in stitches.

ME: "Where is my Heterosexual, Fat Chick, Missionary Position Flag? That's what I want to know! How come I don't get a fuckin' parade?"

POTSIE: "We had a meeting but the Mayor vetoed it."

ME: "Thank God for that, my buttless chaps are in the shop."

Licensed to Kill Drive.

Took the boy for his learners permit the other day. Just the initial written test. With this permit he can learn to drive.

He passes. The written test. And then thinks I will let him drive home.

"Boy, all you are qualified to do at this point is draw us a map home."

I will see how he does in an empty parking before putting my life in his hands on the open road.

I promise, I will stop. Eventually.

The Boy is a little OCD over the guitar playing. He will play a song night and day until he thinks he has it right. Then after I have suffered through all that, he refuses to play for anyone who comes into the house. They probably think he can't play a note.

Thankfully, he has learned to record himself. Which means you don't have to just take my word for it anymore, you can hear him play.

I am so lame that when I heard this, I thought it was the James Bond theme.

I choose to believe its because he loves his mom.

The Boy knows I love the intro to this certain song. The first time I heard it, it stopped me in my tracks. You know the kind of song I am talking about. It is haunting. I don't even know if there are any lyrics, but the intro grabs me.

I don't really care for the rest of the song, just the intro, so he recorded himself playing it. Probably so I would stop asking him to play it every time someone came into the house,

"Play the one that makes me sad." (I never knew, or cared to know the name of it.)

So, here he is playing the song for me. If you know the song (without peeking) then you are both old and a metal head.

And since I realized only recently that blogger will host my pictures, I will be saving all my ISP provided space for his music.

Yes, there will be more. I am 'that' mother.

FINALLY!

Finally after months, game after game of being slaughtered, only twice actually tying a game, its happened.

WE WON!

And that means.....PILE ON THE GOALIE!

And don't forget to shake hands with the losers. (wow that was blood thirsty of me)

And the final score?

4-1 and The Boy got 2 of those goals. I am so proud I could spit.
