Licensed to Kill Drive.

Took the boy for his learners permit the other day. Just the initial written test. With this permit he can learn to drive.

He passes. The written test. And then thinks I will let him drive home.

"Boy, all you are qualified to do at this point is draw us a map home."

I will see how he does in an empty parking before putting my life in his hands on the open road.

Dear God I am insane! The very day after my boy got his learner's permit, I let him drive my car. What was I thinking? I wanted to take him for his first drive. He really did extremely well - I on the other hand was scared nearly to death.

Yes he had driven a standard before, but never on pavement where the speed limit is 80.

How do people do this???

I know what you mean. I took him out tonight and I was trying so hard not to use the 'imaginary' breaks on my side of the car.

But he did do fine, I am just a bad passenger.

That was one of the most fun times I've ever had driving was tooling around an elementary school parking lot with my Mom on a Saturday morning. Followed quickly by one of the worst, repeatedly stalling on an uphill; trying to declutch while holding the brakes. Someone came up behind us and I nearly died of embarrassment motioning the guy around us.
